New supervision mode for animal and plant products in comprehensive bonded area

- On February 27th 2019, the General Administration of Customs issued the announcement No. 36[2019] with the decision to implement the “first in, then inspection” supervision mode for animal and plant products entering the comprehensive bonded area. This means the animal and plant products may first enter the warehouse in the comprehensive bonded area, after quarantine procedures at the entry port, and then follows the relevant inspection by the customs. The inspection of the animal and plant products includes testing for pesticide residue, veterinary drug residue, environmental pollutants, biotoxins, and heavy metals.
