CCIC Europe has officially been accredited by the Protected ECO-origin Products (PEOP) division of the China Entry-Exit Inspection and Quarantine Association (CIQA), making it the first overseas organization authorized to conduct PEOP certification evaluations.
- June 10, 2025 — CCIC Europe has officially been accredited by the Protected ECO-origin Products (PEOP) division of the China Entry-Exit Inspection and Quarantine Association (CIQA), making it the first overseas organization authorized to conduct PEOP certification evaluations.
PEOP certification highlights products that adhere to environmentally sustainable, low-carbon, and resource-efficient practices throughout their lifecycle, while showcasing unique regional characteristics. The certification spans a wide range of sectors, including agriculture, food, industrial goods, and specialty services, as well as ecologically significant geographical areas.
Since its inception in 2012, and its integration into CIQA in 2018, the PEOP system has grown rapidly. Under the guidance of the General Administration of Customs of China, CIQA has expanded PEOP’s global reach, promoting high-quality product exchange and standard harmonization. As of 2024, PEOP-certified products have grown at an average annual rate of 15%, with eleven protected zones now recognized.
The certification aligns with WTO/TBT and WTO/SPS frameworks and incorporates a dynamic feedback mechanism, enhancing international trade compatibility and intellectual property protection tied to origin and ecology.
With its headquarters in Europe and a strong presence across key cities and ports, CCIC Europe is well-positioned to deliver efficient, localized PEOP assessments. It has assembled a dedicated team of PEOP experts and implemented a rigorous certification process to support European producers in accessing and competing in the Chinese market.
